Custom 1/6 Scale Mario by Geewhiz Customs

When you talk about Video Games, one of the most iconic characters that tops the list is definitely Nintendo’s Mario. Realistically, could it be anyone else?

The famous short, pudgy, Italian-American plumber from New York City has been Nintendo’s mascot since 1983, and has gone on to become the most recognizable character in all of video gaming. Mario and all of his friends – his brother Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi – have all gone on to be household names thanks to multiple generation of gamers who grew up playing the games. Games starring Mario have sold 262 million copies – making it the most successful video game franchise in history. Since his debut in 1981, Mario is the only original video game character that has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. The future of video gaming isn’t a certain thing, but you can guarantee that it’s going to involve Mario in one way or another.

In this one sixth scale figure version, Geewhiz Customs envisioned Mario as a real person as opposed to how he has been popularly designed with exaggerated and cartoony features. While live action versions of Mario have appeared in both Cinema and TV, we believe our version stays true to form and pays the proper homage to everyone’s favorite Plumber from the Mushroom Kingdom.

To top it all off, our Mario Custom Figure debuted and bagged First Place at the recently concluded Collecticon 2014 Custom Figure contest initiated and spearheaded by the Pinoy One Sixth Kolektors Community. A big thankful “Shoutout” goes to all who appreciated this and most especially to the organizers and judges for the recognition given.
